Full Description
An antique (Victorian) large pine clerk's slope in very good condition
In detail we have the following:
1. A single board lid with an expansion crack running laterally across part of the top
2. A replacement lock, keep and escutcheon
3. The key does operate the lock, but the lid needs to be firmly pressed down for it to do so
4. At either side there is a campaign style carrying handle
5. Internally there is a single shelf
6 The dovetail joints have been well executed
7. Internally, on the right hand side, there is a label with the following details: Aperient Pills, (?)Topham Street, Spital Hill, Sheffield, suggesting that this slope was once used in a chemists. I have been unable to trace this business
