A set of 3 antique, Victorian, mapping or draughtsman's pens together with their stand and a Victorian ink bottle
In detail we have the following:
a pen stand 15cms high by 9cms wide. The original gold paint can still be seen in areas
a mapping/draughtsman's pen 15cms long with the letters MV engraved on the nib, and the maker's name of THORNTON on the barrel of the pen. Founded in 1880 at 109 Deansgate, Manchester by Alexander George Thornton, the firm grew to become one of the largest manufacturers of drawing implements
a mapping pen 14.3cms long (no maker's mark)
a mapping pen 12.5cms long (no maker's mark)
a green Victorian glass ink bottle with numerous air bubble inclusions. The cork stopper is not period but has been added just for the completeness of the display
