An antique (probably 1920’s) figure of a lady reclining on a Savonarola style chair with a book in one hand.

Stylistically, the headwear appears to date to the 1920’s

Part of the thumb near the neck is missing, and the hand is a very slightly different in colour, but not noticeable unless you examine the figure in detail. It is not inconceivable that this hand was taken from another piece, though there is no evidence of it being grafted onto the original wrist

The plinth is marble

In short, a lovely decorative item which would suit any home of any period
