Antique English 19th century wood and papier maché pull along toy horse on wheels 

In detail we have the following:

• a wood and papier maché pull along horse in highly original condition

• some losses as shown in the photographs 

• some losses to the cotton bridle and other fastenings but some of the original green fabric remains

• the horse is securely mounted on a rectangular pine base via nails

• black painted feet and hooves

• one fabric ear remains

• cotton mane and tail with some inevitable losses

• some cracks to the paintwork on the legs but the horse is stable and firm

• light blue paint to the right side of the head suggesting some historic re-touching

• the red eyes are presumably the result of re-touching

• the horse has a slight lean to one side as shown in one of the photographs

• four original wooden wheels with original green and black paint in evidence

This item is very charming and characterful and comes in highly original condition  - a surprising survivor being a toy of over 150 years of age
