Antique fruitwood chair, highly original, lovely colour, peg joined

£165.00

19th century

Dated

Full Description

An antique highly original and pretty Georgian or Victorian fruitwood and cane chair

In detail we have the following:

- original cane with no repairs: very taut cane with a good colour

- a peg-joined chair: the pegs are hand-made

- grooved decoration

- a well balanced chair with an off-set attractively carved stretcher

- carved front rail

- there are some historic woodworm holes as you would expect from an item made from a fruitwood, but the chair has been sprayed  with woodworm killer for the re-assurance of potential purchasers

- this is a very attractive unusual chair with a mellow colour and is most probably pre-1850 in date

This chair is for collection from Buntingford (East Herts. SG9)  but I am happy to liaise with a courier of your choice

Please see my other items which are predominantly 18th and 19th century in date
