Antique pair of ceramic spill vases
£60
17th - 19th centuries
Dated
Full Description
A very unusual pair of antique hand moulded glazed spill vases. Difficult to date. A very decorative pair of vases. In the photographs there appear to be white marks on both vases, but these marks are simply reflections from the light source and not paint
In detail:
Crenellated tops above bodies decorated on opposing sides with well modelled faces
Extensive crazing throughout, together with some chips and losses
Have the look of faience ware – the earthenware underbody is evident towards the base
Depth of the bore: 11cms with a diameter of c.15mm
Of uniform height with a maximum height of 12.25cms
Maximum diameter of the bases: 7cms
Not the usual type of item I buy but these were sufficiently unusual that I had to acquire them – no provenance unfortunately
Delivery will be via Royal Mail (Tracked 48 hour service). Delivery is just to mainland UK but personal collection from Buntingford (East Herts, SG9) is most welcome
Please see my other items which are predominantly 18th and 19th century in date
