An original cast iron door knocker and striker produced by Archibald Kenrick & Sons (Birmingham) c.1864


  • This item is in the shape of the Greek god Hermes (equivalent to the Roman god Mercury) and depicts the messenger of the Gods wearing a winged helmet

  • The reverse of the knocker bears a registration lozenge and the number 414 which relates to a casting made in 1864

  • This item is in excellent condition and comes with fixings which were recently used to attach this item to a modern UPVC composite door


Weight of the knocker plus striking plate: 1.06Kgs
